For Solstice Evening I and Solstice Evening II, I set up in a manner I call “faux plein air”…on the inside looking out. Not truly en plein air – in the open air, painting what I observe. But, rather, painting what I observe on the outside from an interior location. In this case, the porch of the Little Cabin, safe from swarms of mosquitos.
