Paintings for a Cause

I have the good fortune to teach art at Montessori School of Lemont. My young artists there are full of energy and great ideas, and they really love participating in creative experiments.

This April, the school is hosting their annual auction to raise funds for expenses not covered by tuition. The school is experiencing some growth, which is great! A successful auction will help the school continue to be a great place to learn and grow.

As a show of support, I have created two paintings to be auctioned off at the event. Details below!

This painting brings you right to the beach! Sun, surf, sand, and tropical trees evoke warm summer days. Painted exclusively using painting knives and the impasto technique, giving a very textural paint surface.

A cheerful flower portrait. Day lily painted using painting knives and the impasto technique, giving a very textural paint surface. Background painted in a dove gray tone using thick brushwork with lots of movement.

I really had a lot of fun painting these. I hope the highest bidder enjoys their addition to their art collection!
