I have been asking family members to round up some photos for me. I come from a family (and in-law family) of avid travelers, from local jaunts to international excursions. And, I’m also related to avid photographers! So, in order to work on my painting skills, I ask for photographs – and in return, they get a painting! Sweet deal.
The first person to offer me up a selection of photos was my stepfather. One of those photos was of Jenny Lake at the Grand Tetons. I haven’t painted mountains yet – so I decided to give it a go. I love the colors in the massive stone formations, as well as the line of trees and the mist hanging around the left side of the mountainscape.
